Community Living Assistants

The Arc of Carroll County has immediate openings for part-time Community Living Assistants in several of our ALU’s assisting adults with developmental disabilities.  Duties will include assisting in the implementation of Individual Program plans, collecting data; assisting with daily living activities and transportation; encourage relationship building and community participation of residents, and their families.  We require a high school diploma or GED and a valid drivers’ license with no more than 2 points.  Completion of Arc-provided training is also required.  The Arc provides benefits for employees scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week.  Hours are primarily early mornings, evenings and weekends.  Entry-level rate is $9.87 per hour.

Van Assistant

The Arc of Carroll County, a leader in the field of direct care and advocacy for people with developmental disabilities, has an immediate opening for a part-time Van Assistant for special needs clients in our day habilitation and transition day programs.  Duties include assisting clients on and off the vehicle; placing and providing supervision, intervention, assistance and support to clients while in transit.  This position is M-F with both morning and afternoon runs, approximately 30 hours per week.  We require a high school diploma or GED and a clean criminal background.  Prior experience with adults with developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Development Director

The Arc of Carroll County, Inc., a leader in the field of direct care and advocacy for adults with developmental disabilities, is seeking to fill a new position of Director of Development.  The ideal candidate will come with leadership qualities and can aggressively build generous, ongoing financial support - particularly for expanding programmatic initiatives and operating capacity - and will manage major gifts, planned giving, individual, foundation and corporate contributions.  Excellent written and oral communication skills; the ability to make effective one-on-one and group presentations,including the ability to write and speak persuasively about The Arc, in ways that encourage substantial philanthropic investment in The Arc and its programs.    Experience in researching, cultivating, and successfully soliciting a variety of funding sources, as well as strong grant writingskills is necessary.  We require a Bachelors degree with 5 years or equivalent combination of education and experience in fundraising, securing major, individual and annual gifts, creation and implementation of a planned giving effort and other new potential revenue streams.  We offer health, dental, life and STD coverage, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan, and a salary range of $45,000 to $55,000.  We also offer the opportunity to become part of a team dedicated to giving the gifts of independence, self-determination and pride to those with developmental disabilities.

We require a high school diploma or GED and a clean driving record.  Salary is from $10.00 per hour and benefits include a generous contribution toward individual health insurance.
