Mission and goals: The Arc Carroll County works to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life.
Programs and services: The Arc provides support services to about 700 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Carroll. Services include vocational training and support either in-house or in a community employment setting; residential support either in an individual’s home or in one of 10 homes owned by The Arc; transportation for adults supported by The Arc, as well as 500 special education public school students; and self-determination and vocational skills educational support for students ages 14-21 through a 16-year partnership with Carroll County Public Schools.
What benefit does your organization have to Carroll County?: “The Arc believes that every individual with an intellectual or developmental disability is entitled to live a meaningful life and have the same opportunities that all others have,” said Albin. “The Arc provides support and advocacy to help the people we serve pursue their hopes and dreams and be successful citizens in our community.”
